The Ghadir class ships are modern Iranian miniature classically powered (diesel-electric) submarines. The first ship of this type entered service probably in 2007, and the whole class counts - according to various data - from 20 to 23 units. The Ghadir-class ships are 29 meters long and approx. 9 meters wide. The maximum underwater speed is around 8-8.5 knots. The armament consists of 2 bow 553 mm torpedo tubes. Ghadir-class submarines were developed for the needs of the Iranian Navy as units that are as cheap and simple to build and operate as possible, adapted primarily to carry out tasks in the waters of the Persian Gulf. It is assumed that all these units are currently serving in the Southern Fleet operating in this area, and none - in the Northern Fleet operating in the Caspian Sea basin. You can find information that their design was to some extent based on the North Korean Yono type, and if that were the case - the Iranian class units were very significantly lengthened. Due to their size, the Ghadir-type units are only able to use torpedo armament.
