Alenia Aermacchi M-346 is a modern Italian training and training aircraft with limited combat capabilities. The structure of the aircraft is made of metal, based primarily on aluminum alloys. The prototype flight took place in 2004. In the same year, small series production began. The drive is provided by two motors Honeywell F124 with a thrust of 27.8 kN each. The aircraft does not have permanent on-board weapons, but it can carry overhead weapons weighing up to 3,000 kilograms. Originally, the M-346 was developed in cooperation with the Russian company Yakovlev as a lightweight and universal training and training aircraft with limited combat capabilities. However, in 2000, the cooperation ended, and Alenia Aermacchi decided to finish the machine on her own. The final version, compared to the original, has a modified airframe, improved aerodynamic properties, other equipment and is powered by Honeywell engines. At present, the machine is operated by the air forces of: Italy, Israel and Singapore.
