The Bombardier Learjet 55 is a modern business-class business-class business-class, twin-engine, low-wing jet aircraft manufactured in the USA. The flight of the prototype took place in 1979, and serial production lasted from 1981 to 1987. 147 examples of this aircraft were built in the course of it. The Learjet 55 was developed as a grassroots initiative by Bombardier Learjet. The first public presentation of one of the prototypes of this machine took place in 1977 at the Paris Aviation Show. The new machine featured winglets on the tips of the wings, which were rarely seen at the time. It also had a passenger cabin capable of carrying 10 people in very comfortable conditions, as well as a T-shaped rear tail. The engines were mounted on pylons at the rear of the fuselage. In the course of serial production, several development versions of the Learjet 55 were created, for example: 55B (version with richer avionics and improved range), 55C (version with reduced landing speed) or 55C / LR (version "C" with extended flight range).
