SN61 is the designation of a series of passenger railcars, which was produced in the years 1960-1975 at the Ganz-MAVAG plant based in Budapest. The service weight of a single wagon was 57.8 tons, and its total length was up to 24.22 meters with a width of 2.96 meters. The car provided 48-53 seats with a total of 111 seats. It was constructed on the B'2 'axis system. In total, 250 cars of this type were built. The SN61 wagon was custom-built and used by the Polish State Railways, based on the SN52 and SN60 motor wagons. The drive was provided by a single 12-cylinder 12JV 17/24 500 HP engine, which was replaced at the end of production by a Henschel production unit. A single rail car could pull up to three trailer cars. PKP operated SN61 railcars mainly on suburban routes and as fast express trains. It is worth adding that two wagons of this type (in 1976 and 1985) were adapted for revision works. SN61 wagons were decommissioned in the early 1990s.
