The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a German middle-class passenger car that was first presented to the public in 1993. Serial production started in the same year and continues to this day. Production of the fourth generation of this model is currently taking place in many cities around the world, including Bremen in Germany or East London in South Africa. The Mercedes-Benz C-class was developed as the successor to the 190 model. Compared to its predecessor, it differed in style, especially the rear part of the car. In the course of serial production, it also offered a wider range of engines as well as richer basic and additional equipment, especially in the field of electronics. Already in the first generation, it also had an improved braking system and a slightly modernized steering system. Four generations of the C-class were produced in series production. Starting from the second generation (produced in 2001-2007), the car is offered in three main body styles: 2-door coupe, 4-door sedan and 5-door station wagon. In the fourth generation, a convertible version has also been added. The models, modernized and tuned by AMG, served as the so-called safety cars in Formula 1 races in 1996-1997.
