Dolphin (Russian: Dolphin) was a Russian submarine from the beginning of the 20th century and the First World War. The unit was launched in 1902 and entered service in 1903. The total length of the ship was 19.6 meters and a width of 3.3 meters. Underwater displacement reached approx. 130 tons, and the maximum underwater speed - up to 4-5 knots. The ship was armed with two external 380 mm torpedo tubes and a single machine gun. The dolphin was built at the Baltic Shipyard in St. Petersburg. The unit had a single hull with de facto external ballast tanks. During the tests of the unit in 1904, an accident took place on the Neva River, which resulted in the death of 24 crew members. A year later, another disaster occurred, as a result of which the ship sank, but was lifted from the bottom and put into service - after the end of the Japanese-Russian war (1904-1905), in which he did not have time to take part. The unit took a very limited part in World War I, and in 1917 it was declared unfit for combat missions and removed from the fleet.
