The Subaru 360 is a Japanese kei-car passenger car that was first presented to the public in 1958. Its series production started in the same year and lasted until 1971 - about 390,000 copies of this car were produced during it. Production was concentrated in the city of Ota in Japan. Subaru 360 was developed and put into production in order to establish the Fuji Heavy Industries concern (owner of the Subaru brand and known in Europe mainly under this name) on the automotive market. The 360 model was the first car produced by Subaru in its history! Shinroku Momose was responsible for the project. From the very beginning, it was designed with the domestic market in mind and great emphasis was placed on maintaining the appropriate size and capacity of the engine, which would allow it to be classified as a kei-car. It can be added that the Subaru 360 was the first car in its class that could transport four people. It was also known for its reliable low fuel consumption engine and overall low operating costs. The 360 model was replaced in the Subaru offer by the R-2 model.
