The M19 Tank Transporter is an American, military, armored vehicle and tank transporter from World War II and post-war times. The set was composed of a Diamont T M20 tractor unit and a heavy M9 semi-trailer. Serial production was carried out in the years 1941-1945. The car was powered by a single engine Hercules DFXE 185 hp. The maximum speed was up to 37 km / h. The set did not have permanent weapons. The M19 Tank Transporter was created as a new heavy transporter for tanks and armored vehicles. It gained approval and entered the equipment of not only the US Army, but also the British armed forces, becoming in both armies practically the basic vehicle of this type. The M19 Tank Transporter entered service for the first time in 1942 in the North African Campaign and was later used successfully both in the Italian Campaign (1943-1945) and in the fighting in Northwest Europe in 1944-1945. Vehicles of this type, although in a much smaller number, also served in the Pacific, especially in the American armed forces. Cars of this type were still in service in the 1950s.
