The Isuzu Type 97 (another name: Isuzu TX40) is a Japanese military truck from the interwar period and World War II. The first prototype cars of this car appeared in 1937, and production started shortly after. The length of the vehicle was about 6.6 m, with a width of about 2.2 m and a height of up to 2.1 meters. The curb weight of the vehicle reached 2.8 tons. The drive was provided by a single 6-cylinder engine with 68 HP. The maximum speed on the road was up to 70 km / h. The Isuzu Typ 97 has been developed for the needs of the Japanese armed forces, and above all the Japanese imperial army, which in the late 1930s sought to obtain a new truck with a capacity of up to 2 tons. During World War II The Isuzu Type 97 was a standard Japanese truck with this particular payload. Structurally, it was a vehicle with typical and frequently used solutions, not showing much innovation. The layout of the car was also classic, with the engine at the front, the driver's cabin behind it and a cargo area at the rear of the vehicle. The load box could be covered with a tarpaulin, fastened with arches. It is worth adding that the Ishikawajima Jidosh Seisakusho and Tokyo Jidosha Kogyo plants were primarily responsible for the production of the car.
