Honker is a Polish, modern off-road vehicle. Serial production started in 1988 and continues, with some breaks. The manufacturers of this car were various entities, including: FSR, Daewoo Motor Polska or Fabryka Samochodow Hooker. The car was powered by various gasoline and diesel engines ranging from 75 to 115 HP. The load capacity of the car reaches 900 kg. The curb weight of the car is 2,250 kilograms. Honker was developed to replace the UAZ-469 off-road vehicle in the Polish uniformed services. The first prototypes of the vehicle were built as early as 1979 on the basis of the Tarpan 234 prototype car. The final prototype was presented to the public in 1984, and the car entered production in 1988. Based on the basic version, many specialized and modernized versions were also created, including: Honker 4021 (ambulance), Honker Max (vehicle with increased off-road capability), as well as a fire engine version. There was also a prototype Honker Skorpion, which received light armor and armament and was dedicated to Polish troops serving in Iraq. Slightly modernized, it entered production under the designation Honker Skorpion-3.
