Ulkokalla Lighthouse was built in 1871 on a small island, now part of Finland, of the same name (ie Ulkokalla) in the waters of the Bothnian Bay, 20 kilometers from the city of Kadajoki. The building was erected according to the design of Axel Hampus Dahlström, as a round, concrete tower topped with a gallery and a lantern light. The height of the lighthouse is 13 meters, and the building rises 25 meters above sea level. The range of the light it casts is 35 kilometers. The lighthouse is currently painted with horizontal stripes - two black and one white. Near the lighthouse, there is a wooden house that once served as the residence of the lighthouse keeper, and is now open to tourists, as the Ulkokalla lighthouse is now fully automated. As an interesting fact, you can get to the lighthouse by boat only in summer and spring.
