The Pontiac Firebird is an American sports passenger car that was presented to the public for the first time in 1967. Its serial production was carried out in the years 1967-2002. The car was powered - depending on the version - with a wide range of engines with a displacement of 2.5 to 7.5 liters. Production took place in various cities in the United States, including Lordstown, Norwood and Van Nuys. The Firebird model has been developed and implemented into production by the General Motors Corporation automotive concern, owner of the Pontiac brand. The car was created as a complement to the commercial offer of the Chevrolet Camaro car concern, and its direct competitor on the American market was the Mercury Cougar. Interestingly, the Firebird and Camaro models were created on the same floor plate. On the American market, it was classified as the so-called pony car and muscle car. The main designer of the exterior of the new car was John DeLorean. The model went through the production of four of its generations, the last of which was produced in the years 1993-2002.
