The Nissan R89C was a Japanese racing car that was presented to the public for the first time in 1989. The vehicle was powered by a single 3.5-liter VRH35 8-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 950hp. The Nissan R89C was developed to replace the R88C on racetracks. Compared to its predecessor, it had a different power unit and slightly improved aerodynamic properties. It also received a body made mainly of Kevlar and composite materials. The new car was developed in cooperation with Lola Cars International, which was in charge of the body. Nissan R89C was designed primarily for racing in the so-called Group C, however, also competed in other races, such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans. However, the new car turned out to be faulty and underdeveloped mechanical, which made it not very successful.
