The Morane-Saulnier MS230 is a French single-engine training aircraft with a wing in the "umbrella" arrangement with a fixed landing gear and a classic tail. The prototype flight took place in February 1929. The MS230 very quickly became the basic Armee de l'Air training plane, used throughout the 1930s. The power unit was a Salmson 9AB engine with 230HP. About 1,100 aircraft of this type were produced, 500 of which were purchased by the French Navy. They were exported, among others to Greece, Romania and Brazil.
