BMD.3 DESTROYED

The BMD-3 was a Soviet, and is now a Russian, tracked infantry fighting vehicle (IFV for short). The first cars of this type were adopted by the Soviet Army in 1990. The cart is 6.1 meters long and 3.13 meters wide. The drive is provided by a single 2W06 engine with a capacity of 450 HP, allowing to reach the maximum speed on the road of 70 km / h. The armament of the vehicle consists of a 30mm autocannon, a 30mm AGS-17 grenade launcher, a single 7.62mm PKT machine gun and a 9M113 Competition rocket launcher. The BMD-3 was developed primarily for the Soviet (later Russian) airborne troops. It was assumed that it would eventually replace the BMD-1 and BMD-2 vehicles in the line. During its design, many experiences from the war in Afghanistan (1979-1989) were also used. Finally, a successful IFV was created, with considerable mobility in the field, good seaworthiness and considerable ability to overcome water obstacles, which is also well equipped. The vehicle can be transported by air by such planes as the Il-76 or An-124. The vehicle takes up to 10 people: 3 crew members and 7 landing soldiers.
