The Mikojan-Guriewicz MIG-19 built in the early 1950s was the first mass-produced supersonic fighter plane. The experience gained in the design and implementation of new technologies in this aircraft has greatly helped the constructors in the construction of the next versions of the MiG aircraft. The MiG-19 in serial production was marked with the symbol SM. The SM-9/1, flown on January 5, 1954, became a direct model for the serial MiG-19. The plane did not yet have a plate horizontal tail. Therefore, the first series of MiG-19 planes had a classic tail. The MiG-19 flight tests with a plate tail continued throughout 1955. Soon after, the serial production of the MiG-19S aircraft, derived from the SM-9/3 prototype, began. Airplanes for various purposes come directly from it. Built in 1956, the MiG-19SW high-altitude fighter. MiG-19R reconnaissance aircraft and a short series of MiG-19SF aircraft reaching speeds of 1560 km / h. The second development line consists of airplanes built on the basis of the SM-7 prototype, equipped with the RP-5 radar on-board station. New interceptors have been developed. The SM-7/2 prototype turned into the MiG-19P aircraft, then the MiG-19PF and the MiG-19PG with the "Gorizont-1" station were built (it was used to guide the aircraft at the target according to the ground command point). In a short series, the MiG-19PU plane with additional rocket accelerators was built. The SM-7 / 2M prototype, equipped with the RP-2U radar station and armed with 4 RS-2U (K-5) guided missiles, was manufactured under the designation MiG-19PM. A variant of the MiG-19PM aircraft was equipped with the MiG-19PMŁ telemetry device "Łazur". MiG-19 planes were used in the Warsaw Pact countries: the USSR, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Poland, Romania and Hungary, as well as in China, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Pakistan, Syria and Cuba. The production of the aircraft was started in Czechoslovakia (MiG-19S as S-105) and in China, where the planes were initially produced under the license under the designation J-6, and then their own designs were developed on their basis. Technical data: length: 12.54m, wingspan: 9m, height: 3.9m, maximum speed: 1455km / h, speed of climb: 180m / s, maximum range: 1390km, maximum ceiling 17500m, armament: permanent - 3 cannons NR -30 caliber 30 mm, suspended - the most common were 4 Vympel K-13 air-to-air missiles.
