St. Maksymiliana Maria Kolbego in Szczecin is currently a Roman Catholic church located at ul. Włościańska. The origins of the building date back to the mid-15th century, when the first information about the construction of the church in the Gothic style appeared. In the 16th century, the church became a Protestant church and it fulfilled this role until 1945. However, during the Thirty Years' War, in 1632 to be exact, it was destroyed by the Swedes, and during the reconstruction it lost its Gothic character. The church was completely destroyed again during World War II. Its reconstruction took place only in the years 1972-1973. At present, the Church of St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe is a single-nave building, devoid of decorative cross-ribbed vaults, but having numerous brickwork and architectural details. The character of this sacred building is given by erratic boulders skillfully and ingeniously woven into the brick walls.
