G72-003 JAPANESE GUN 75 MM TYPE 90

The Type 90 is a Japanese 75mm towed field gun from the interwar period and World War II. The initial velocity of the projectile fired from this gun was up to approx. 680 m / s, with a maximum range of approx. 14,900 meters. The first prototypes of this weapon were created at the turn of the 1920s and 1930s, and its serial production continued in 1932-1945. Approximately 790 pieces of this weapon were produced in its course. The Type 90 gun was put into production and entered service to replace the (introduced in 1905!) Type 38 gun. In practice, however, both guns complemented each other, and the Type 90 gun production was never large enough to allow total wcyfoane Type 38 out of the line. However, the Type 90 was undoubtedly much more modern than the Type 38 gun - it had better range, was more mobile and had a very similar rate of fire. On the other hand - it was much more complicated and more expensive to produce. It is worth noting that it was largely based on the French Schneider et Cie Canon de 85 mle 1927 gun. The weapon was used on a large scale in the war with the Soviet Union (1938-1939) and during the fighting in the Pacific.
