The Gelandewagen Tempo G 1200 is a German military off-road passenger car from the interwar period and World War II. The first copies of this vehicle appeared in the mid-1930s, and serial production continued in 1936-1944. The drive was provided by two engines with a capacity of 0.6 liters and 19 HP each. The Tempo G 1200 was designed by Otto Daus at Vidal und Sohn based in Hamburg. The vehicle was characterized by a very unusual design because it had two engines located at the front and rear of the vehicle, which, when working simultaneously, provided all four-wheel drive. For economy, only front-wheel drive was used when driving on paved roads. Originally, the Tempo G 1200 did not find interest in the German armed forces and was exported in small numbers to Denmark, where an all-terrain vehicle and a 37mm Bofors anti-tank gun tractor were used. In the course of World War II, however, it was adopted by the Wehrmacht.
