The Embraer E170 is a short- and medium-range, twin-engine low-wing Brazilian jet airliner. The drive is provided by two General Electric CF-34-8E turbofan engines. The prototype flight took place in 2002. Serial production started in the same year and continues to this day. By the end of 2012, 183 aircraft of this type had been produced, out of 193 ordered by the airlines. The Embraer E170 was created as an aircraft that would allow the Brazilian concern to compete with the Bombardier CRJ-700 and Bombardier CRJ-900 machines in the short-range passenger aircraft segment. Due to the low operating costs and the low unit price of the purchase, it met with considerable interest of customers. A modernized version with the designation E175 also quickly appeared. Depending on the configuration, the E70-E175 aircraft can take up to 70 passengers on board. Machines of this type are used by LOT Polish Airlines, which has been using them commercially since 2004.
