The BMD-4 is a modern Russian tracked infantry fighting vehicle (IFV). The first prototypes of this car appeared in the 1990s, and its production started in 2004. The total length of the cart is 6.36 meters, with a width of 3.11 meters and a height of 2.45 meters. The drive in the basic version (BMD-4) is provided by a single diesel engine 2V-06-2 with a power of up to 450 HP, allowing to reach a top speed of 70 km / h on the road. The armament of the vehicle consists of a single 100mm 2A70 cannon, a 30mm 2A72 autocannon and a 7.62mm PKT or PKMS machine gun. The vehicle is also capable of firing 9M117 Bastion and 9M113 Competition ATGMs. The BMD-4 was developed as a successor to the BMD-3 and is in fact its far-reaching modernization. Like its predecessor, it was designed from the very beginning primarily for Russian airborne troops. Compared to its predecessor, it differs mainly in the main armament, which has been extended with a 100mm cannon, and the ability to fire the 9M117 Bastion projectile. Interestingly, the BMD-4 crew was reduced to only 2 people, as well as the number of landing troops - to 5 soldiers, compared to 7 soldiers in the BMD-3. It is also worth adding that the BMD-4 is characterized by considerable mobility in the field, it is relatively light for a vehicle of its class, it also has the ability to overcome water obstacles without special preparation. It is also possible to transport it by air and parachute landing.
