The Ford Sierra is an American middle class passenger car that was first presented to the public in 1982. Its serial production started in the same year and lasted until 1994. During it, the model was manufactured in several cities around the world, including: Dagenham in Great Britain, Genk in Belgium or Azambuja in Portugal. The Sierra model was developed and put into production to replace the Taurus and Cortina models in the Ford Motor Company offer. The first generation differed from its predecessors mainly in the design of the body and its shape, in which great importance was attached to the aerodynamics of the vehicle while driving. Many new subassemblies and elements were also used, often developing them from scratch. All these treatments made the Ford Sierra a successful car with high reliability and good traction - one of the best in its class in the 1980s. The car was offered with different versions of the engine, the displacement of which ranged from 1.3 to 2.8 liters. Sierra was also offered in various body variants: liftback, station wagon and sedan. The car was replaced in the Ford offer by the Mondeo model.
