The Moskalev (or Moskaljew) SAM-13 was an experimental Soviet low-wing fighter from the Second World War. The prototype flight took place in 1940. The drive was provided by two MV-6 engines, 220 HP each. The length of the machine was 7.85 meters with a wingspan of 7.3 meters. The achievable top speed did not exceed 470 km / h. It was assumed that the machine would be armed with four 7.62 mm SzKAS machine guns. The Moskalev SAM-13 was constructed in a very similar aerodynamic system as the Dutch Fokker D. XXIII. Therefore, it had two propellers set on one axis, one of which was a pushing propeller and the other a pulling propeller, and a rear tail mounted on two tail beams. However, already during the flight test, the machine was characterized by very difficult piloting, medium maneuverability, long take-off and landing distance, and a low rate of climb. With time, however, the shortcomings of the structure began to be overcome. However, the outbreak of the German-Soviet war inhibited the development of the machine, and its only one was destroyed.
