The L-60 Brigadyr is a Czechoslovakian light multipurpose aircraft from the post-war period in a high-wing fixed undercarriage system. The drive - in the basic version - was provided by a single Prague Boris M208 engine with 190 HP. The prototype flight took place in December 1953. Subsequent serial production, which lasted until 1960, resulted in the production of approx. 270 aircraft of this type. The L-60 Brigadyr was developed as a successor to the licensed Fieseler Fi 156 aircraft, produced in Czechoslovakia. The new machine had the ability to shorten take-off and landing (STOL) and had better performance than the Fi 156 - especially the maximum flight range. However, in the general concept of the aircraft and in the technical solutions used, it was clearly based on the German construction. Several development versions were created in the course of serial production, including: L-60 (first production version), L-60A (version armed with a single machine gun, adapted to the needs of the army), L-60B (agricultural aircraft, used for spraying ) or the L-60F (glider towing version). L-60 Brigadyr aircraft were operated by many countries, for example: Czechoslovakia, Poland, Austria, Belgium and Argentina.
