The Dassault-Breguet Étendard is a family of French in-flight fighters designed by Dassault Aviation in the mid-1950s. The Étendard IV version of the aircraft was built by Dassault Aviation as part of a venture financed solely by the manufacturer. The prototype flight took place in 1956, and in the same year the plane gained the attention of Aéronavale and was included in the equipment of aircraft carriers "Clemenceau" and "Foch" as a modernized version of Étendard IVM for naval purposes. As part of the first order, the French Navy ordered one prototype and six more information series machines. In January 1962. these machines were officially included in the Aéronavale armaments. A total of 69 Étendard IVM and 21 Étendard IVP reconnaissance aircraft were built. In the 1970s, it was decided to replace the Étendard machines with newer ones with better parameters. Initially, the possibility of introducing the modernized version of the SEPECAT Jaguar, designated as Jaguar M, was considered for landing on aircraft carriers, but due to unexpected political problems related to the machine being built in cooperation with the British party, Dassault Aviation decided to upgrade its own machine to the Super Etendard standard. Machines in the Étendard IVM version were withdrawn from use in 1991. Technical data: Maximum speed: 1099 km / h, speed of climb: 100 m / s, maximum altitude: 15500 m, maximum range: 3300 km, armament: fixed two cannons DEFA 552 cal. 30 mm, suspended - up to 1500 kg of bombs and rockets.
