The Morris Light Reconnaissance Car was a British reconnaissance vehicle from the Second World War. The first prototypes of the vehicle were made in 1940, and serial production was carried out in the years 1941-1944. In total, approx. 2050-2200 vehicles of this type of all versions were produced. The car was powered by a single 72hp Morris engine. The armament consisted of the 14mm Boys anti-tank rifle and the 7.7mm Bren machine gun. The Morris Light Reconnaissance Car was manufactured by Morris Motor Limited. The car complemented the vehicles produced by Humber and Standard Motor Company. It was characterized by an unusual layout of the crew, which was completely placed in the front of the vehicle. In the course of production, in addition to the basic version (Mk. I), two more modernized versions were created: the Mk. I OP (observation version) and Mk. II (4x4). In addition, several experimental versions were created, such as the Morris Firefly with a 6-pounder cannon, but they never entered production. The Morris Light Reconnaissance Car was used primarily in the North African Campaign 1942-1943 and the Italian Campaign 1943-1945, as well as in the fighting in North West Europe (1944-1945). Few cars of this type were used by the Polish Armed Forces in the West.
