The Morris-Commercial CDSW was a British artillery tractor from the interwar period and World War II. The first prototypes of the vehicle were built in 1934-1935, and shortly after (in 1935) mass production started. The drive was provided by a single 6-cylinder engine with a power of 60-61 HP and a capacity of 3.5 liters. The maximum speed on the road was up to 65 km / h. The CDSW model was developed for the British Army as a new artillery tractor on a 3-axle chassis with a 6x4 drive. In order to reduce costs, its manufacturer Morris-Commercial Cars based its design on the CD car, but decided to use a completely different drive unit. The Morris CDSW was used primarily for towing 4.5 inch 18- and 25-pounder guns. Over time, it was also adapted to tow 40 mm Bofors anti-aircraft guns. From 1940, it began to be replaced by the much better Morris C8 tractor (the popular Quad). It is worth adding that a specialized version of the CDSW was also created as an evacuation vehicle.
