The Zlin Z-142 is a modern training and sports aircraft of Czechoslovakia (Czech) production, with a metal structure in the low wing configuration. The drive is provided by a single motor Avia M-337 / AK with a maximum power of 210 HP . The first flight of this machine took place in December 1978. Serial production was carried out in the years 1981-1990 and led to the creation of approx. 270 aircraft of this type. The Z-142 was developed based on the experience gained from the operation of very successful Zlin aircraft: Z-42 and Z-43. He also took many components and design solutions from them. At the same time, however, it used a completely new power unit with higher maximum power, had richer avionics and improved - and so very good - aerodynamic properties. All this contributed to a very successful plane, which was exported to many countries, including Algeria, Bulgaria, Germany and Poland. In our country, it has become one of the most popular aircraft used in civil aviation clubs, and in 2006 there were still 48 such aircraft in use in Poland.
