The North American T-28 is an American low-wing single-engine training aircraft. The first prototype was tested in 1949. After entering service, the old P-51 Mustangs were replaced. In 1952 The US Navy ordered a version of the T-28B with a more powerful engine and a version of the T-28C for training on aircraft carriers. In 1959. a large number of such machines were sold to France where they were converted into planes to attack armed rebels. They were used in combat during the civil war in Algeria and the Dominican Republic. At the end of the 1970s, virtually all machines of this type were sold to private collectors.
