ARADO AR 240

The Arado Ar 240 is a German twin-engine prototype heavy fighter and reconnaissance aircraft from the Second World War. Work on this machine arose due to the need to replace the Messerschmitt Me 110 aircraft. The first flight took place on July 25, 1940, but due to technical and design problems, this aircraft did not leave the prototype phase and development work on it was stopped at the end of 1941. . V3, V5 and V6 versions of this prototype were stripped of their weapons and were intended for reconnaissance aircraft flying over Great Britain. A total of 14 prototypes of the Ar 240 aircraft were built.
