The Flakpanzer Gepard is a modern German self-propelled anti-aircraft system. The first prototypes of the vehicle were made in 1965, and serial production started in the years 1965-1976, ending with the production of about 570 units. The cheetah is powered by the MTU MB 838 Ca M500 engine with 830 HP. The vehicle is armed with two 35mm KDA Oerlikon compound anti-aircraft guns. The cheetah was created in response to the Bundeswehr's demand for a new self-propelled anti-aircraft system to be used by West German mechanized and armored units. In order to simplify the production process and to standardize the vehicle as much as possible, it was decided to mount the vehicle's weapon on the - slightly changed - chassis of the Leopard 1 tank. significantly broadens its scope of autonomy. In the case of Dutch army vehicles it is the Holland Signaal set. Due to its high combat value, the Cheetah was exported to several countries, including Brazil, Belgium, Chile and the Netherlands.
