The Unimog 406 is a West German truck from the post-war and modern times. Its production was carried out in the years 1963-1989, and in its course slightly more than 37,000 vehicles of this type were created. The length of the vehicle in the U65 version was approx. 4 m, with a width of approx. 2 m and a height of approx. 2.25 meters. The drive was provided by a single 4.58 liter 6-cylinder engine. The presented truck was developed by the German company Unimog, which in 1951 was taken over by Daimler-Benz AG, which, however, decided to keep the original name "Unimog". The presented vehicle, the Unimog 406, was developed as a commercial vehicle dedicated to agriculture and the forestry industry. For this reason, from the very beginning, the emphasis was placed on the highest possible mechanical reliability and considerable off-road capability. Over time, power units with more and more power were used, giving the next versions of the vehicle more and more possibilities. It is worth adding that the Bundeswehr also got interested in the car and adapted it to its own needs. There is no doubt that the Unimog 406 has proved to be a very successful vehicle and is sometimes referred to as "cult".
