The M60 AVLB is an American bridge tank from the Cold War and modern times. The first copies of this car entered service with the US Army in 1963 and are still in service today. The length of the wagon is about 9.44 meters with a width of 3.66 meters. The weight of the vehicle in the basic version oscillates around 48.2 tons. The vehicle is powered by a diesel engine Continental AVDS-1790-2DR o power of 750 hp. The operating range of the M60 AVLB is assumed to be 450-470 kilometers. The car does not have permanent weapons. The M60 AVLB bridge tank was developed as a successor to the vehicle of the same purpose, designated the M48 AVLB. The vehicle uses the hull and many components of the M60 MBT. The main contractor for these cars was the Anniston Army Depot (ANAD) in Alabama, which operated de facto in a consortium with the General Dynamics Land System. In the course of production, two versions of this vehicle were created: the M60 AVLB and the M60A1 AVLB, which, however, differed only marginally (mainly in a slight way in terms of weight and armor). Vehicles of this type were used by the American armed forces during the Vietnam War (1964 / 1965-1975) or during both the Persian Gulf Wars (1990-1991 and 2003). They were also exported to several countries - including Israel, which used them during the Yom-Kippur war in 1973.
