The BAC 167 Strikemaster was a British low wing attack aircraft from the post-war period. The prototype flight took place in 1967. Serial production was carried out in the years 1967-1984. About 150 aircraft of this type were built in its course. The drive was provided by a single engine Rolls-Royce Viper Mk 535 with a thrust of 15.3 kN. The length of the aircraft was 10.36 meters with a wingspan of 11.23 meters. The deck armament consisted of two 7.62 mm machine guns. The machine could also carry a load of bombs or rockets weighing up to approx. 1,350 kilograms. The BAC 167 Strikemaster was developed at the British Aircraft Corporation for export markets. In essence, the machine was a far-reaching modernization of the Jet Provost training aircraft. First of all, the new plane received a completely different power unit with greater thrust, a new, more extensive avionics, a changed fuel system and external pylons under which weapons could be attached. Finally, an aircraft with a solid structure, resistant to damage, simple construction and easy to use and service on the ground was created. The machine went to the air forces of countries such as Saudi Arabia, Ecuador, Kenya and New Zealand.
