The E-25 was an experimental German tank destroyer from WWII that never entered mass production. It was probably armed with a 75mm KwK 42 L / 70 gun and 1 machine gun 7.92mm MG34 or MG42, which was supposed to be placed in a small turret. Design work on the E-25 tank destroyer was initiated in as part of the Entwicklungsserie program, i.e. a program for the development of German armor, which was to lead to the creation of a standardized design for a series of six combat vehicles of different weights, but using as many common components as possible. Analytical and conceptual work under this program was initiated in mid-1943. The E-25 vehicle in this project was to be a medium vehicle, weighing from 25 to 50 tons. The chassis was to be made from scratch, but with the use of components of the Pz.Kpfw. VI Tiger II. The future role of the E-25 on the battlefield was reconnaissance and fighting enemy medium tanks. Ultimately, the E-25 was to replace the Pz.Kpfw III and Pz.Kpfw IV in the line of the tank, as well as vehicles built on their chassis.
