The Detroit Diesel 8V92TA is a modern American 8-cylinder diesel engine generating a maximum power of 435 HP at 2100 rpm. The engine is turbocharged and its capacity is 12.06 liters. The presented power unit belongs to the Detroit Diesel Series 92 engine family, which entered serial production in 1974 as a development of Detroit Diesel Series 71 engines. It included several diesel engines with the number of cylinders from 6 to 16, which generated power from 270 to 960 KM. It is worth noting that all of them (including the 8V92TA) had a cast iron block and were made in the V system.
