In the basic version, the car is powered by a single, 8-cylinder BMW S62 engine with a capacity of 4.9 liters and 394 HP. Design work on the BMW Z8 began in 1993, but it was only a few years later that the first prototype and pre-series units were ready. The car alluded to the style and general concept of the BMW 507 from the 1950s. The BMW Z8 has a frame made almost entirely of aluminum, thanks to which its weight is relatively low. The car also has good driving characteristics and has a well-balanced center of gravity. Based on the serial Z8, the Alpina V8 Roadster version was also created, produced by the Alpina company based in Buchloe, Germany. The new car had mainly a new engine - an improved version of the BMW M62 engine, significantly improved traction properties, larger wheels and a slightly changed styling. The prices of a used BMW Z8 oscillate around 170-220 thousand. euro.
