The Sukhoi Su-17 Fitter is a Soviet single-engine attack bomber with variable wing geometry. The flight of the prototype took place on August 2, 1966. The line was entered in 1970. The Su-17 is a development of the Su-7 design, has the same fuselage, engine, landing gear and tail, but has different wings. Initially, the machine was designated as Su-7IG. A dozen or so versions of this aircraft were created, which under the designations Su-20 and Su-22 were massively exported to allied countries, including Poland.
