The Airbus A321 is a mid-range, low-wing, twin-engine jet airliner, primarily French-German production. The drive is provided by two turbofan engines CFM International CFM56 or IAE V2500. The flight of the prototype took place in 1993, and serial production started in 1994 and is still going on. Until the beginning of 2014, over 870 aircraft of this type had been produced. The Airbus A321 was developed as a development of the A320 aircraft. The modification consisted mainly in extending the fuselage and flight range, while maintaining the existing engines. The A321 is the largest mid-range mass-produced passenger airliner to date, capable of taking up to 220 passengers. In the case of machines broken down into economy and business classes, this number drops to 185 passengers. Like the A320, the A321 aircraft uses very modern avionics (fly-by-wire system or the pilot's cabin in the glass cockpit configuration). It is also an economical machine in operation. It competes with the Boeing 737-900 and 737-900ER aircraft on international markets.
