Beijing BJ2022 Yongshi is a contemporary Chinese military all-wheel drive (4x4) vehicle. The drive is provided by various power units with a capacity from 2.0 to 3.0 liters, which can be mated to a 5- or 6-speed manual gearbox. In the basic version, the car is 4.08 meters long and the wheelbase is 2.6 meters. The BJ2022 Yongshi car was developed for the needs of the Chinese armed forces by Beijing Automobile Works as a new, light, basic off-road vehicle to replace the BJ2020 vehicles in the line. Concept work began in 2002, and the car entered production in 2005. The first BJ2022 entered the line two years later. Its production continues and is currently the most widely used vehicle of this type in the Chinese armed forces. The BJ2022 car is based on many technical and technological solutions used in the American Jeep Cherokee, but it differs in dimensions - it is longer and wider. The car has a 4-door body and can accommodate a driver and 4 soldiers. In the long version, it is able to transport up to 8 people, including the driver.
