Description
UPGRADED MOULDSStarting from the mid ‘30s an ambitious project to improve the mobility and the mechanization of Germany Army was undertaken. One of the most important need of the program was the adoption of a standard military chassis able to optimize the cross country mobility. Among the different version proposed, the medium off road passenger cars, four wheel drive, built by Opelwerk and Auto Union found an important diffusion. The Wehrmacht used them in various configurations as troop transports, as tow tractors, and for artillery reconnaissance. Not least, the Kfz 15, built by Horch ( the Horch Company was part of the Auto Union group together with Wanderer, Audi and DKW ), was developed to perform signals corps duties. In fact it was equipped with radio and transmission systems to act as command and communication mobile post.
