The Blackburn Firebrand is a British, all-metal, low-wing, on-board fighter and fighter-torpedo plane, powered by a Napier Sabie III, Bristol Centaurus VII or IX radial engine with a power of 2400KM or 2520KM. The flight of the prototype of the Blackburn Firebrand aircraft took place in February 1942, but it was not until the May 1945 version that it entered into serial production (designation TF Mk.IV). In total, only 102 examples of this aircraft were built, and production ended in 1947. The planes were decommissioned in 1953 and were replaced by Westalnd Wyvern machines.
